Targeted Virus Screen, Little Cherry Disease (LCD)

$300.00

Little Cherry Disease (LCD) has caused significant economic impact to the cherry market, leading to over $115 million in losses and the removal of thousands of acres of sweet cherry trees. The viruses that cause LCD can lie dormant (latent) in a tree for years, escaping detection, before showing symptoms. However, by testing rootstock and scion mother plants before investing in a new planting, the risk of planting infected material can be greatly reduced. Similarly, testing symptomatic plants can confirm the cause, allowing you to manage the disease.
